Godwyn the Golden, first of the demigods to die, was transformed into the Prince of Death after the Night of the Black Knives. His corrupted body spreads Deathroot beneath the Lands Between. Fia, the Deathbed Companion, embraces him in undeath, seeking to restore dignity to Those Who Live in Death and birth a new mending rune through devotion and sorrow.
